Dr. Afsaneh Mahajerani

Dr. Mahajerani was raised in Almaden Valley and upon completion of her Doctorate degree, she was committed personally and professionally to give back to this vibrant community. With the assistance of UC Berkeley School of Optometry, Dr. Mahajerani helped implement optometric care for the indigent at the Martin Luther King Jr. Clinic in Richmond. She later received the ASCO Ambassador Award for outstanding leadership.

She has special interest in laser refractive surgery where she has had extensive experience and training in the pre and post operative care of LASIK patients while working with a local refractive surgeon. She is therapeutic licensed enabling her to prescribe drugs in the treatment fo eye infections and ocular inflammation.

In addition, she was one of the first optometrists certified to manage and help treat glaucoma patients. With her extensive training and background, she is excited to offer excellent comprehensive care for the entire family. On a personal note, she speaks Farsi and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
